A single boat. Floating empty, docked at a pier...
Roxas' head was pounding. He felt groggy and exhausted and all he wanted to do was stay sleeping. It was warm and comfortable here. And this dream wasn't too bad. He wouldn't mind staying longer. But a voice in his mind kept pestering him.
Wake up...you need to wake up...it's time....
Why? Did he really have to? Oh well, it was nice while it lasted... Roxas cracked open his eyes, trying to focus, still waking up. He blinked once, twice, glancing around the room he was in. It was dark, but there wasn't much to look at anyway, just some boxes and crates stacked in the corners. The shades were drawn, but through the cracks sunlight indicated it was clearly daytime.
"Where the heck am I...?"
He went to sit up, but his head screamed in pain and the world tilted. "Ughn!" Roxas cringed and lied back down. What had happened? Why did he feel he'd been hit by a train? He scanned his memory, trying to remember, but after a few minutes, he realized he couldn't. In fact...he couldn't remember anything. How he got here. What had happened before. Nothing. Panic began to creep through his chest, making breathing difficult. Why couldn't he remember? His life, his past, nothing!
Ignoring his pounding head and weak body, he pulled himself up and off the cot he'd been lying on. Stumbling slightly, he reached the door, and with some difficulty, managed to budge it open. Slipping through the narrow opening he had made, he squeezed through and saw the door had been barricaded from the outside. Roxas was starting to get scared now. Why had this room been sealed off? Who was trying to keep him here? The fear was sobering enough to forget the pain and weakness he was feeling. He hurried down the dim hallway he'd found himself in, and down a staircase. At the bottom was a door, and fear gripped him at the possibility it was locked. But miraculously, it swung open with ease, and Roxas hurried out into the sunlight.

Ventus tried to end up figuring out what he was going to do next, it might just end up making things more difficult, he had been floating in the middle of nowhere and now here he was. Standing in a place he didn't know where he was that was just how it was, and now he had to work with it right. To make the best of what was going to happen to him. He wanted to find his friends, Terra and Aqua they had to be around here. Unless maybe he was just in the wrong place, one way or another he would end up finding them. They were connected and would always be no matter what might happen to them in the future. The past had been hard enough for Ventus though, not that he wanted to get into that again, it would not make him feel much better. He thought he had heard something, a scream maybe he had to figure out what it was. The keyblade appeared in his hand and he moved closer to where he thought he had heard it.
He was run into by someone, or well almost he had moved at the last moment before he had been hit, this was odd to him, the other person had blonde hair like his and yet there was something odd about this. He looked at him and had to wonder if he was truly alright. There had to be a reason why he was out here that was not going to be something easy to accept much less learn. He would not try to shock him but then again Ven was the one who had a habit of doing that he just didnt' like telling anyone that, he kept it to himself most of the time. Or tried to as hard as it was going to be.
His heart was in the right place, he had to make this all go well or nothing was about to make bad things happened, he reached out to touch him and backed up a bit. That was not going to end up helping at all. "Who are you? Are you alright?" he was asking standard questions and it was not going to get them anywhere if things ended up happening to them.
'Who is this I wonder...' He was trying to figure out why he looked so familiar, his mind kept going back to Sora even more now.

Rushing into the sunlight and rounding a corner, Roxas came face to face with a stranger, nearly toppling over him. Swerving at the last moment, he stumbled and spun around to face the young boy-and froze up, shocked. The person facing him could have been a mirror image, his twin. The boy said something. It was a calm voice, soothing, not at all threatening, but the words didn't process. All Roxas saw was him reaching toward him.
In his panicked state, he flung his arm out to swat the outreaching hand, stepping back. "Who are you?", he cried. "What do you want?"
Already he was considering his options. Run? Fight? Though staying to see what the boy wanted was an option, Roxas feared it would be a poor choice to hesitate. But in a flash of pure light, his body seemed to have chosen for him. The Kingdom Key had materialized in his right hand.

The fact that this boy looked a lot like him was not making Ventus much happier, he had to figure out why but still there was only so much that he could have said or done. But he would not worry about it anymore,he would just think about it later. For now he would try to help this boy if he would let him at the moment all it looked like he was going to do was attack him. Not that Ven wasn't used to that, Terra would probably attack him to if he ran into Roxas first. It truly depended, though he barely knew anything about this person, he had been saved, mainly Sora had released his heart yet again. The boy had done a good job to be holding onto it, not that the boy knew he had been holding onto it. He would have remembered if he had thought about, but that was just how it was, things didnt' work out to well for the keybearer.
"the Name's Ventus and I just want to help you calm down before you hurt someone..." though he knew that getting to this boy would not be as easy as he might have wanted it to be there was just way to much going on through his mind lately. And he was already trying to find his friends, bu the never ignored someone in need. And this kid definately needed some help maybe just a nice rest and a good meal but still.
Ventus saw the keyblade appear in Roxas's hand, this was going to be a fight wasn't it, not that he wanted to fight. Wayward wind appeared in Ven's hand, he was holding it like he usually did and just looked at the boy. "I do not wish to fight you...you should at least let someone help you..." Though he would fight him if he had to, it was just that way right.

'A Keyblade? He even has a Keyblade too?'
Roxas was a bit shocked. He had forgotten everything that had happened before now, but clearly his body had remembered how to summon the Keyblade. Having the metal in his right hand made him realize he had never really forgotten it. He clenched his fingers tighter, feeling so much safer with the hilt in his palm. But this was no time to get nostalgic. He had to make a choice, and fast.
"Thank you, but I don't need your help. I just want to leave and go home." He conveniently left out the fact that he didn't know where "home" was. No need to look even more confused. "Unless you're committed to escalating this, I'd rather you just let me leave."
In sync with the word "leave", a strange noise warbled behind Roxas. It sounded suction-like, but made even the air shiver visibly. Glancing over his shoulder, Roxas' eyes grew wide at the ominous black hole that had appeared. It swirled and twisted. The middle was darker than black, like it was feeding on the light that came too close. It looked terrifying. Like you would be swallowed up, never to be heard from again.
Roxas felt immense relief wash over him at the sight. He didn't know how, but he instinctively knew that he had to enter the portal if he wanted to leave this place, and this strange boy who also had a Keyblade. He looked forward once more, to make sure the boy hadn't moved towards him, then turned and entered the portal.
The moment Roxas was completely inside, the opening collapsed in on itself, leaving him in pitch darkness. Almost immediately Roxas started regretting his decision. The air here was hot and thick, making breathing nearly impossible. Roxas felt like he was practically suffocating. Maybe the darkness really was trying to swallow him up, suck the very life out of him. Fighting down the urge to flat out run, he briskly walked forward, or at least what he thought was forward. He couldn't really tell if he was moving at all. Nothing changed.
But then, finally, after what felt like minutes, but was in reality only seconds, a bright opening appeared before him. It should have grown gradually, like walking out of a tunnel, but the proportions of this place seemed all wrong. One second it was a pinpoint of light. One step more and it was big enough for Roxas to walk through. He found it odd that the sudden brightness didn't hurt his eyes in the least. Then again, after how claustrophobic this place was, he wasn't about to complain. Two more steps and he was out. The blackness faded behind him.
Roxas was standing in a grey room with an enormous window spanning the entire wall he faced.
